Tell us about yourself and your cycling or adventuring achievements.
In 2015 and 2016 I travelled to the Nevada desert as part of a University of Liverpool engineering project to build the fastest human powered vehicle in the world. In 2016 I rode the ‘Arion 2’ bike to a top speed of 76.59mph breaking our own British Record. I’m also player-manager-coach for a race team who compete in road races, time trials, cyclo-cross and track racing. Sometimes I even let them eat cake.
What are your favourite things to do on the bike?
Go fast, win races and eat bananas.
Where is the most exciting place you’ve ridden your bike?
Interstate Highway 305 in the Nevada Desert.
What is your goal in life, cycling or otherwise?
To be the best I can be on and off the bike. I’d love to represent my country on the international stage. I might be a bit late to the game for senior competition but I’m already in training for the master’s world champs!
Who are your sporting heroes?
Arnold Schwarzenegger is the man. He is best in the world at whatever he turns his hand to. If you follow his snapchat you can see him on his travels riding bikes wherever he goes.
Tell us how you know spokes of Bagshot
I’m a long time friend of James Thompson and have been pestering him for new bikes since the beginning. I was here at Spokes for the opening night and hope to attend many more store opening nights with James in the future.
What does being a Spokes ambassador mean to you?
It’s a great change for me to get involved with a growing business and help out wherever I can. Any excuse to talk to people about bikes and I’m there!
If you had one piece of advice for someone new to cycling what would it be?
Don’t rush it. Take your time and try as many different types of cycling as you can. Find what you love the most and do it every day.
