Tell us about yourself and your cycling or adventuring achievements
David Kirk, 27 years of age, Senior Vice President of Marketing Technology Platform, Passle and Great Britain Age Group Triathlete/Duathlete. Started out as a tennis player having graduated from IMG Academy, Florida. I moved into running before discovering duathlon and consequently triathlon. I have consistently finished in the Top 10 of Age Group World Championships during my 4 year career.

What are your favourite things to do on the bike
Training downtime by taking on an adventure with a tent on the back of my bike!

Where is the most exciting place you’ve ridden your bike
I have been spoilt, racing in Australia, Mexico, Canada, Spain, US including Hawaii. But the feeling of cycling the rue de napoleon whilst racing from London to Monaco unsupported and not seeing a single car for extensive periods of time was incredible.

What is your goal in life, cycling or otherwise
Make a success out of the business Passle whilst continuing to compete as an international triathlete.

Who are your sporting heroes
Tim Don (video insert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BaDYnpTA2Y) is a huge inspiration and motivation for me, certainly not a household name. His ability to focus, have fun and work hard is a continuous reminder of the recipe to success.

Tell us how you know spokes of BagshotWhen I moved to the UK, James advised me on my first bike. He didn’t actually sell me a bike but was just happy to make sure I chose the right one whether he received my custom or not. That was the last time I did not source my bike from James and his business.

What does being a spokes ambassador mean to you?
To succeed in life you need to surround yourself by people better than yourself. Whether an interaction in the shop, club ride or fellow ambassador I have this opportunity whilst being part of the Spokes team.

If you had one piece of advice for someone new to cycling what would it be?
Join a community, I am still learning about equipment, strategy during races etc. however you can’t do this just through Google. Whether a cycling/triathlon club, coffee at Spokes or friendly social media chat, surround yourself with others and at the very least you will have even more fun!
