LIMITLESS POTENTIALGet out of the saddle. Pedal as hard as you can. Don’t look back. This thing is fast, we know. Let your instincts kick in and…. Boom! You’ve unlocked all that potential. As easy as. The new Mondraker Arid is the perfect ride whatever your idea of gravel. We’ve created something that moves, something truly authentic. Our way.
ARID CARBON RR: CARBON FIBRE FROM MAVICAnother step up the ladder gets you the first build with carbon fibre wheels. Mavic supplies the lighter, higher performance, more exclusive 25mm Allroad Pro Carbon SL wheels fitted with 45mm Maxxis Reaver tyres, and SRAM provide the brakes and Force Etap AXS drivetrain with a 40-tooth chainring and 12-speed, 10-44 cassette. Available with a combination of paint and graphics in Bunker Grey / Fog Grey / Flame Red.
ARID: THE ULTRA GRAVEL BIKE“Arid: (of land or a climate) having little or no rain; too dry or barren to support vegetation.”
Riding a bike in an arid environment, regardless of terrain, can be seriously demanding. Bike and rider alike may be pushed to their very limits. The extremes of temperature, poor grip, and general exposure make it a significant challenge… yet thankfully it’s often incredibly exhilarating too.
Here at Mondraker we thrive on that sensation. We live and work in one of Europe’s most arid regions, surrounded by dry, rocky, loose terrain where grip is often non-existent. Those feelings, that experience, led us to create in perhaps the most appropriate place possible our best gravel bike imaginable: the new Mondraker ARID.
MORE THAN CARBON FIBRE WEAVEPrototypes. Carbon fibre weave. Finite element analysis. 3D modelling, blah, blah, blah…
We don’t want to bore you with the details but we think you’ll be interested in this. Stealth Air Carbon is our elite-level carbon fibre construction process. The carbon fibre which makes up an ARID frame is designed, cut and assembled in such a manner that we’ve managed to create the most comfortable, the most vertically compliant fully rigid frame to ever come out of our workshops. And to top it all off, regardless of its gravel bike label, ARID meets and exceeds the same strict ISO standards as all of our full-on mountain bikes. You see, lateral stiffness and power transfer don’t have to be incompatible with small-bump compliance and comfort.
COMPLIANCE AND STIFFNESS COMBINEDDuring the Stealth Air Carbon fabrication process we optimize every tube and every joint to best meet the design criteria, whether to increase stiffness and responsiveness from the bottom bracket or headtube areas, or to improve compliance from the rear triangle for better grip and comfort. The stiffness and responsiveness of the main frame is specially noticeable when you put the power down and lends itself to greater pedalling efficiency and acceleration on hardpack.
Altogether, the compliance of the seat stays combined with the stiffness of the frame equal greater average speed over unforgiving terrain. It's something you’ll notice from the very first time you turn the cranks.
5 FRAME SIZES, 1000’s OF RIDERSARID comes in 5 sizes, including the new M/L for riders who found other Mondrakers to be a little small in size M and a little large in size L. We want our pioneering Forward Geometry to work for you, and to make that happen you need to be on a frame that’s the right size. That’s no longer going to be a problem with 5 frame sizes to choose from: S, M, ML, L and XL.
CARRY-ON: NEXT GEN HAND LUGGAGERiding the Arid is like writing your own screenplay. Racing, adventure, singletrack or the daily commute, Arid is going to be there with you whatever the script; and when you need to take something with you you’ve got internal frame storage for the first time ever on a Mondraker. Whether it be basic tools, a bite to eat, documents or clothing, Mondraker’s ‘Carry-On’ system has you covered. Accessible through a watertight, dustproof cover on the downtube, you can carry the essentials safely, securely and quietly.
CARRY-ONThree custom-made, internal yet easily accessible, velcro fasteners keep things neat and tidy and mean that you won’t need additional packs or accessories for those shorter trips. One of the bags is specifically designed to carry a spare tube and tyre levers. Another for a mini-pump or CO2 cannisters, and the third for a multitool… or… you can use them for whatever fits your needs better on the day.
WATER BOTTLES WHEREVER YOU WANTWhen it comes down to it, gravel biking is a very personal discipline. If you’re the one deciding how you want to ride your ARID, you should to be the one configuring it too. You have the traditional bottle mounts in the main frame triangle, but there are also bottle mounts under the downtube near the bottom bracket and up to three alternative bottle mounting points on each fork leg. There are even bottle-mount threads on top of the top tube near the headtube! Every ARID has the ability to be unique, it’s up to you to put your stamp on yours.
4 BUILDS, SAME ARID SPIRITFour builds make up the ARID range. ARID CARBON, ARID CARBON R, ARID CARBON RR, and ARID CARBON RR SL as the top-of-the-range build which is also available as a frame-only option. We want you to find your own personal ARID, based on the same Stealth Air Carbon frame and fork combo. You can go for Shimano on the ARID CARBON, or wireless SRAM on the other 3 builds. Mavic supplies wheels with 45mm Maxxis Reaver tyres throughout the range, except for the range-topping RR SL which boasts the spectacular Zipp 303 XPLR wheels and 45mm Goodyear tyres.
THE DEVIL’S IN THE DETAILWe’ve really gone to town on the details. ARID has HHG internal cable guidance, a UDH derailleur hanger for stiffness and shifting precision, six water-bottle mounts you can use to various ends, and generous frame and fork dimensions for up to 50mm wide tyres for riders looking to tackle the roughest of terrains. The bike also features the all-new Mondraker ‘Carry-On’ downtube storage system so you can carry your belongings without the need for packs that would otherwise spoil the looks of your ARID.
UNRIVALED ONOFFThe new ARID CARBON range boasts ONOFF components as do all Mondraker bikes. Both the new carbon and aluminium handlebars take comfort and ergonomics to another level. Available in 400mm and 460mm widths depending on frame size. The aluminium stem is visibly a part of the whole, following the frame lines perfectly. Stem length depends on frame size; 60mm for the S, 70mm for M and ML, 80mm for L and 90mm for XL. ONOFF also supplies the 27.2mm diameter carbon seatposts in 400mm or 450mm lengths for all four builds. HEX bar tape adds a little extra grip and comfort for an even greater feeling of control over your ARID.
