A sleek aerodynamic frame
The Filante SLR's frame is designed to improve aerodynamics. The frame has also been extensively tested by professional cyclists in wind tunnels and in the open air. The design has fewer sharp corners than its predecessor, the Cento10Pro. The rounded corners provide better performance and give you extra speed. Not only is the frame aerodynamic, it is also made of carbon. And that makes the frame ultra-light: only 870 grams! Not only the frame is made of carbon, the front fork and wheels are also made of this material. The carbon also gives this bike good stiffness. Compared to its predecessor, the filante has an increased stiffness compared to weight of 12.5%. You will especially notice this in the precision of steering at high speeds.
Lightweight and Responsive
The new aerodynamically optimised profiles helped us eliminate extra weight in the frame’s construction. The shape has no sharp edges and, therefore requires less material and less resin in the corners. This improves the homogeneity of the inside, reducing the frame’s weight to a mere 870 grams. The assembled bike with top-of-the-range specifications weighs 6.8 kg.
The Filante monocoque handlebar is made of the same carbon we use for the Wilier 0 SLR. Thanks to the different types of carbon we used in combination with the Liquid-Crystal Polymer, the unique fibre positioning and the construction technology, we have reached an absolute level of lightness and stiffness.
The lower overall weight compared to the exceptional stiffness increases STW by 12.5%. This improvement is clearly felt with the steering precision and the feeling of safety at high speeds.
SRAM Force eTap AXS assembly
The Filante SLR has a SRAM Force eTap AXS assembly. This group is perfect for the demanding cyclist for whom only excellent shifting performance is good enough. With this group you can shift quickly, smoothly and electronically. With the 2x12 drive you will always find good gear. In addition, the bicycle has hydraulic disc brakes, so you can always come to a measured and safe stop. All cables are neatly concealed in the handlebars and frame. This not only protects them against damage, it also looks much nicer.
An excellent wheelset
Finally, the Filante has super fast aerodynamic wheels. The Wilier Triestina SLR42KC wheelset is made of carbon and has a wider rim for better aerodynamics. These wheels also have a special Mavic Speed Release thru axle. With this system you can remove or attach your wheel from the frame even faster. The axle does not have to be completely removed from the hub, ideal for a quick wheel change.
Speed release thru axle system
Another new feature is the Mavic Speed Release thru axle system that enbles the wheel to be quickly removed from the frame. In this way the axle does not need to be totally extracted from the wheel hub. This solution significantly reduces wheel release and insertion time. During races, this solution cuts wheel change times by 7 seconds on average compared to a traditional thru axle system.
Balanced Design
Six sizes, one feeling. The sections of the tubes of various sizes were designed to maintain consistent rigidity, handling quality and comfort on every frame size.
Easy-fit spacer
The spacers between the frame headset and the handlebar are made of a high-stiffness composite material, with a special cavity for the cables. They are composed of two parts for quick assembly and disassembly without interfering with the cables running from the handlebar to the frame.
